Something for something: The SNS has been offered the leadership of the parliament, but it has to give up one department. Raši is on the waiting list
It is still unknown who will lead the parliament. Votes-SD says it will not give the chair to its coalition partner. However, information has emerged that the SNS was to receive an interesting offer.
Raši is waiting for an agreement
No agreement on the President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in the coalition has been reached yet. However, the Hlas-SD party insists on the wording of the coalition agreement. This was stated by the Minister of Investment, Regional Development and Informatisation Richard Raši (Hlas-SD) before Wednesday's meeting of the Slovak government. He admits that as a candidate for the position of the head of the parliament he will remain a member of the government for some time.
"I am on a waiting list," he reiterated, adding that he did not know when an agreement on the parliamentary speaker would be reached within the coalition. He hopes the issue will be raised at the coalition council on Wednesday. "But whether there will be an agreement, I can't guarantee that. I came to the Cabinet today, I may come here as a minister in a week's time," he noted.
He also reiterated that the Hlas-SD insists on fulfilling the current coalition agreement. "If the government is to function, the coalition agreement must be respected, whether in terms of positions or the submission of bills," he pointed out.
There is an interesting offer on the table
However, the head of the environment ministry said on Wednesday that the SNS had been offered the leadership of the National Council if it would give up one ministry, according to ta3 information. However, the Nationalists have turned it down.
"Last week, Mr Danko was offered to be the speaker of the parliament in exchange for one of the ministries," Taraba explained after the cabinet meeting. He said the SNS should have told its partners to "forget about the swap on the environment and also culture".
The proposal should have been made at last week's coalition council. However, according to Taraba, the SNS chairman explicitly rejected such a possibility. "Thus, if it is only to be on this plane that the post for any of the ministries where there is an SNS nominee, I consider it a closed topic," Taraba stressed. "We did not go to barter something, we went into it with the fact that it is necessary to take into account the fact that Peter Pellegrini became president thanks to the votes of SNS voters," he said.
Taraba said that if there was to be no other option than to replace the post with a ministerial one, the SNS would concentrate on its role in negotiating the consolidation package.
