US President Donald Trump has unveiled a "golden card" that would give wealthy immigrants the ability to stay in the United States indefinitely. This is according to a Friday report by the DPA news agency.
Trump's card
"For five million dollars, it could be yours," the White House chief executive said Thursday aboard the presidential jet on Air Force One. Several video clips released by US media showed Trump showing reporters a gold card with his likeness on it, which he also referred to as "Trump's card".
The president unveiled his plans for the card back in February and the cards are likely to be available in less than two weeks, according to him.
This visa program may replace the previous EB5 investor visa and also opens a path to citizenship for its holders. The card is aimed at wealthy people and those with special skills whose backers (companies or individuals) are willing to pay for these visas.
