In the east, strange activities have been recorded. Šutaj Eštok fears it was a possible terrorist attack
In the territory of eastern Slovakia, activities have been recorded that indicate possible preparation of a terrorist attack on critical infrastructure.
This was stated by Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) in the STVR discussion programme Saturday Dialogues. He pointed out that according to intelligence information, there is an organised group that is surveying the terrain near the Družba gas or oil pipeline, not only in Slovakia but also in Hungary.
Turbulence in the coalition
Šutaj Eštok also urged his coalition partner SNS and the members around Rudolf Huliak to solve the problem of governing with 76 MPs, according to him it is not technically or humanly easy. "Each party guarantees a certain number of MPs, I as the chairman of the Voice can guarantee 27 MPs and we expect our partner SNS to guarantee the 11 they have in the same way," he added.
Krúpa pointed to the "turbulence" in the Hlas-SD party. "We see that there we have a part of MPs who basically regularly denounce obedience to the club, obedience to the ruling coalition, last time they blocked the parliament," he added. He also criticised the problem of the Hlas-SD ruling in cooperation with the SNS party, which has a different agenda. He also considers the proximity of Šutaj Eštok to Smer-SD to be a problem.
President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic
When asked about the election, Šutaj Eštok responded that he was staying on as Minister of the Interior and was not leaving for the post of Speaker of the Parliament. "I will continue to work hard at the Interior Ministry and I will do my best also as the chairman of the Voice so that we have an agreement with the SNS chairman on the election of the Speaker of the National Council, who will be from the Voice party," he noted.
The interior minister criticised the "hunt" for Culture Minister Martina Šimkovičová (SNS nominee) in connection with the new version of the anthem. Krúpa pointed out that the ruling coalition had managed to polarise society even when creating the new arrangement of the anthem.
