Eva Mosnáková, who survived the Holocaust, joined the resistance and actively opposed the occupation of Czechoslovakia, has died at the age of 95. The news was reported by the daily SME.

Eva Mosnáková was born in 1929 in Brno, she spent her childhood in Handlová. During the Second World War, she and her parents spent seven months hiding from transport to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp on a farm near Močenko near Nitra.

For her lifelong struggle for democracy and the protection of human rights and freedoms, she was awarded the Order of Ľudovít Štúr, 2nd Class, by President Andrej Kiska in 2017.
